So, I just finished New Moon, the 2nd in the series, and it was just as amazing as the first!  I am lovin' me some Twilight!  I am jumping right into the 3rd and have a feeling I am not going to be let down.  Anyone in search of a next good read, I suggest you hop on the ol' bandwagon before the movie comes out! Amazing!!!

I know, I know, I stink at updates, but I do actually have an excuse.........my camera is dead and Nate can't find the charger!!! (See, it's all Nate's fault!) Anyways, I have many updates to make and will be doing so quite soon. Until then, I am just going to post random photos!

Yes, once again I have chosen to wait until the last minute to study for the remaining CSET tests! Tomorrow I will be taking the U.S. history section and the civics, economics, and CA history section. Lucky me! I tried cramming like this guy, but it doesn't really work. Too bad, huh? So, while all of you are having a fabulous Saturday I will be stuck in an uncomfortable desk at San Gabriel High School wishing I had studied the laws of supply and demand more.

Skin Care is Important

Nate's mom stumbled upon this face lotion called Earth Essentials that I ended up loving! I found out that it was a whole skin line and I have loved everything that I've tried so far. It's natural, paraben free, and works great. Right now I am using the A-D-E Creamy Cleanser, Aloe Toner, Azulene Eye Cream, and Almond Moisturizer. It's very affordable and is carried by Whole Foods, Henry's, and has a website at www.earthessentials.com. I getting closer to 30 and am not looking forward to wrinkles, so I am trying to take care of my skin. Hope this post wasn't too boring and wear sunscreen!

In tribute to my dad on father's day, I thought I would post the pictures that Nate and I took the last time we were visiting my dad's. Los Olivos Pics

We all had a fabulous and memorable weekend up in Los Olivos for Kelly's Bachelorette. It was a weekend filled with great wine, great food, and great company. Now I didn't mention a great hotel for a reason, Cheryl and I had the pleasure of staying Days Inn made famous from the wonderful film Sideways. If words could only explain our experience. With our two-night stay we received the following, all complimentary: a creepy/sweaty desk guy, an electrical shortage, and the world's smallest cereal bowl!

The day we started off with a picnic and some wine tasting and then for dinner we made are way to a wonderful Italian restaurant. This Italian place just happened to be right next to Maverick's Saloon and what a saloon it was. It came complete with a live country band, real cowboys, and a creepy old perv named Arnold. We all got asked to dance and we all tryed our best to keep up with the fancy, country footwork.

To my five readers (on a good day), I am deeply sorry for my absence. I know you have all missed my blog very deeply, but you now can all breathe a sigh of relief. I have many updates, so get those reading glasses out (you know who you are), grab a glass of your finest, go pee if you have to, and get comfy!

I'm Back!!

Just got back from NYC and we had an amazing time. I will update with pictures soon, but unfortunately I have to write a paper first.

Just Call Me Martha.....

I just haven't been able to kick this crafty mood, so I decided to attempt another sewing project. I found a pretty easy pattern for an apron on Better Homes & Gardens and thought I would give it a try. I went down to JoAnn's and picked out some pretty fabrics and got to work. Once I started, I realized I didn't really know HOW to follow a pattern, which makes for a pretty interesting sewing project.......

After awhile, I started to get the hang of it and was on my way to making a fabulous apron. Below is the first real picture of progress.


I took my time and had friends to keep me company along the way. (Huckleberry was a little less enthusiastic about my project.)


A few hours later, I had a beautiful apron that I will probably never where in the kitchen because it's just too pretty.
The pocket looks crooked in this picture, but it isn't when you actually have the apron on. I enjoyed my project and am already on to the next.

PASS!!!!

For those of you that don't know, I took my first CSET Exam in world history back in March.  Well, the results are in and (drum roll please)...............I PASSED!!!  I had studied for about two days total due to finals we had going on at the same time and the night before the test I ran through a practice test ending with a horrible score of 4 out of 13 correct!!  Going into the test... lets just say I was not very confident.  The test was horrible.  Anything that I had kinda breezed over when studying was on that stinkin' test.  Leaving the test room I was sure that I had failed and told everyone that I did horrible, but then I got an email today saying that I had passed!  I couldn't believe it and I almost still don't believe it!  I really think that a blind man graded mine because after that dreadful test I was absolutely sure that I had failed. Now that I have passed world history I am on to the next tests, American History and economics.  Wish me luck!

Crafty, Crafty

I guess lately I have been in a Martha Stewart crafty mood and was looking for something to work on.  Well, I thought I'd try my hand at sewing.  I borrowed my gram's machine and got started.  I wanted to start with something very easy, so I thought I would recover some throw pillows.  I found some material for a dollar a yard at JoAnn's and got started.

I was able to finish in about an hour and I think they turned out great!  I haven't sewed them closed yet, but I will try and do it soon.  Next, I think I will try to make an apron or something!

A Day with Uncle Dan & Gram

Today I spent the day with Gram and Uncle Dan.  We had lunch at Cameron's Seafood in Pasadena and it was wonderful.  I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves seafood!  After, we stopped by Uncle Dan's to pick up some fruit and flowers.  He has a wonderful house that he and Uncle Gary basically remodeled from the floor up.  I am mainly posting these picks for mom, but I am sure anyone who loves home decor will appreciate them.

Gram and I made off with amazing avocados and beautiful lilacs courtesy of Uncle Dan.  For those of you wondering how he picked these avocados, he used an avocado picker!  Who knew!?

We had a great time and I am definitely looking forward to doing it again some time soon!
